This past weekend, my parents hosted an engagement party for us at their house. My mother has a way of planning a party that perfectly fits the guest(s) of honor. Ben and I love snacks, finger-foods, and appetizers. (No joke. We’re big fans of grazing.) With that in mind, my mom planned a cocktail party to celebrate our engagement. The caterer served up a variety of passed hors d’oeuvres and cold displays. Our guests enjoyed our favorite and oh-so-simple libations; wine (mine) and beer (his). The weather was beautiful and many of our guests spent the evening outside on the deck. Inside, the caterer placed some high-top tables around the living room to add standing room.
At the end of the night, I felt like I barely had enough time to spend with everyone, and we had just around 40 guests. At one point during the night, Ben and I stopped to look around the room together. This was something that my friend suggests we do at our wedding- spend 5 minutes enjoying the party from afar. Such amazing advice that we decided to give it a try at our engagement party. It was incredible to see our families (minus a few) and closest friends all in one room together celebrating with us.
I’m beyond grateful for this life each and every-single day. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s nights like these that remind me how truly loved we are as individuals and as a couple.
**Not pictured** So many of our friends and family-members. I enjoyed having a night where my phone and camera were completely out of sight. That being said, I feel like I’m missing so many pictures of this amazing night.

We had quite a successful shopping trip to Banana Republic last week. My white dress was a rare find at Banana Republic. I’m linking several similar options below. Here is what we wore:
