I spent two years post-college living in New Haven. I have some amazing memories from my time there, and some of my favorite restaurants are in the Elm City. Ben has also fallen in love with the cuisine in New Haven- particularly their pizza. New Haven-style pizza is a thing. It is a delicious thing and known to the locals as ‘apizza’. It is thin-crust, Neapolitan-style, and unforgettable. Being completely dairy-free is a big bummer whenever we visit New Haven. I’ll munch on a bit of Ben’s crust or take a bite of his pizza, but I haven’t indulged in apizza in years.
When Andrea from The Hangry Italian Girl invited us to attend Apizza Feast, we were thrilled. The event is put on by Taste of New Haven as part of the New Haven Grand Prix. The New Haven Grand Prix is a moonlit cycling race around the city. After sitting in almost 2 hours of traffic- gotta love the I95-corridor during Friday rushhour- we made it to the party.
We snagged a street spot right by 116 Crown, and we determined it must be fate. 116 Crown is one of my favorite spots to grab a cocktail in New Haven. We enjoyed a drink before heading home.
It was the perfect fall night, and I love a good excuse to wear my favorite leather moto jacket by Cole Haan. I snagged it at the outlets last winter for 80% off. (Yes, way! It was under $100!) I’m linking some similar options below…
It looked SO delicious
