When it comes to making smoothies, the world is your oyster! Perhaps I’m the only person who feels this way, but I often get overwhelmed by all the smoothie ingredients I have in my kitchen. I am going to break it down by first identifying my staple ingredients and then showing three of my favorite recipes below.
***I never put yogurt or milk in my smoothies as I don’t eat dairy.
***If you have a nut allergy, you can substitute almond or coconut milk for oat-milk. It is dairy-free and nut-free.
Smoothie Staples (linking the exact brands that I use):
NutribulletΒ (For under $75, you can’t go wrong with this incredible kitchen appliance)
Orgain- Plant-based Protein (I order from ThriveMarket or Vitacost)
Amazing Grass Green Superfood Powder (I often throw this into smoothies for an extra boost)
The same friend who got me into Face Halos is also the one who flawlessly whips up these incredible smoothies. I’ve had to work at it, and it’s taken me awhile to perfect my three, favorite recipes, but here they are:
1. Fresh Start Smoothie
1/2 cup of almond milk
1/2 cup of coconut milk
1 banana (frozen)
1 scoop of Orgain Protein (vanilla)
Large handful of spinach
6 strawberries (frozen)
-Place in the Nutribullet and blend for 45 seconds. Garnish with shredded coconut and enjoy!
2. Cocoa Chocolate Zinger
1 cup of almond milk
1 banana (frozen)
4 ounces of cold brew coffee
1 tablespoon of PB2, peanut butter, or almond butter
1 large handful of spinach
-Place in Nurtibullet and blend for 45 seconds. Garnish with cacao nibs and enjoy!
3. Mint Chocolate Chip
1 cup of almond milk
3 tablespoons of raw cacao nibs
2 large handfuls of fresh mint
1 banana (frozen)
1 scoop of Orgain protein (vanilla)
Bottoms up, friends! I would love to know some of your favorite smoothie ideas, too.
xoxo Laura
